Changewatching is a free service that allows users to select web pages of interest, and then receive email alerts when the content of those pages change. It focuses on the quality of its change detection and the privacy of its users. Its design attempts to deliver ease-of-use without reducing the power available to its users.

Changewatching is a one-man operation based in the UK. I wrote it because I follow some websites and writers that update their content infrequently, and I wanted to know when they did. There are a number of existing methods I could have used, but I wasn't keen on them. If I subscribed to individual writers' RSS feeds from a big newspaper website, or subscribed to a big-name web aggregator of some sort, then I would be giving a list of subjects and writers that interested me to big organisations that might use that information for goodness-knows-what.
